Chess Not Checkers

Elevate Your Leadership Game

Welcome to a day of profound learning and inspiration from one of corporate America’s biggest successes. The story of Chick-fil-A is an incredible example of how a business run on biblical principles can thrive in the modern world. A privately run company with over $7 billion in annual sales, they are one of the most recognised and respected brands in the USA, and now want to share their organizational leadership principles with you.

As organizations grow in volume and complexity, the demands on leadership change. The same old moves won’t cut it any more.

The early days of an organization are like checkers: a quickly played game with mostly interchangeable pieces. Everybody, the leader included, does a little bit of everything; the pace is frenetic. But as the organization expands, you can’t just keep jumping from activity to activity. You have to think strategically, plan ahead, and leverage every employee’s specific talents – that’s chess. Leaders who continue to play checkers when the name of the game is chess lose.

Learn how to transition from leading a small team to leading a large enterprise. Whatever the current size of your business, you’ll learn strategies to help take it to the next level of scale and influence.

This event is part of a new series of workshops entitled The Leader’s Journey, and features content never before shared in the United Kingdom.

This event is being hosted jointly by One Rock and A Call To Business.

The training will be delivered by a team of seven people from Chick-fil-A, and is geared towards you being able to build a high performance organisation… by starting to play chess not checkers.
