Mark was recently in Geneva, joining talks with global networks on how the church can celebrate the 2000 years of Jesus’ ministry and take advantage of the great witnessing opportunities this creates.
From 2029 – 2033 our generation has a unique opportunity to celebrate 2000 years of the impact of Jesus. We need to be good stewards of this once-in-a-millennium occasion. One Rock is part of these conversations, and will be encouraging all our alumni to think what they can do to join these global celebrations, whilst also taking a lead role in shaping UK events.
We’re already seeing the global church coming together – amongst the 150 leaders in Geneva we had Catholic, Orthodox and Protestants together; Africans, Asians, Americans and Europeans together; French, English and Spanish speakers together; old and young together – all celebrating Jesus.
The three values guiding this festival opportunity are Unity, Witness and Celebration. As churches and ministries come together in unity, we can make a powerful witness, and celebrate the impact of 2000 years of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
What could you offer as part of the celebrations in the lead up to 2033? This is an opportunity to tell the whole world about Jesus!

Malaysia Update
Exciting updates from Kota Kinabalu, where Joanna has been visiting mentors and mentees as part of our preparations for the upcoming Institute set for September 2025.
During her time in Kota Kinabalu, Joanna connected with the current President of the Methodist Conference in Sabah and he has expressed great interest in promoting One Rock across the network.
We already partner with BCCM (Basel Christian Church of Malaysia), where we have established a small but vibrant group of young people and mentors; we hope to grow this group in the next 12 months.
One of the inspiring stories from Kota Kinabalu is that of Paulina. Paulina came from a small island on the other side of Borneo, to be a franchisee of a small restaurant chain. Her journey is truly inspiring; despite having no prior training or experience in business, she is brave and hardworking, pressing on against all odds to build her enterprise on biblical values. We cheer on Paulina in her good work for the Kingdom!
We are gearing up to a week-long training with teams from Lifeshape in Malaysia and Singapore spreading the secret sauce behind Chick-fil-A story.
